Jasmine Pearl Schut, born and raised in BC, is a self taught artist residing in Vancouver. Growing up surrounded by mountains on the coastal shores of the Pacific has nurtured her love and appreciation of all that nature has to offer. This has led to an urge to create a visual relationship between natural forms to express connectedness in an increasingly disconnected world. The natural world inspires us all immensely and too often we overlook the nourishment it provides us.
For Jasmine, art is a way to remind our spirit that we all emerge from nature and we shouldn’t forget our roots. Her paintings often feature vibrant contemporary surrealist interpretations of flowing natural forms in either acrylic, pencil linework or most recently water soluble oil paints. Intending to rekindle a feeling of transformation, unity and thoughtfulness.
