Jasmine Pearl Schut, born and raised in BC, is a self taught artist residing in Vancouver. Growing up surrounded by mountains on the coastal shores of the Pacific has nurtured her love and appreciation of all that nature has to offer. This has led to an urge to create a visual relationship between natural forms to express connectedness in an increasingly disconnected world.
For Jasmine, art is a way to remind our spirit that we all emerge from nature and we shouldn’t forget our roots. Her paintings often feature vibrant surrealist interpretations of flowing natural forms in either acrylic, graphite or most recently water soluble oil paints.
In early 2019, Jasmine took an opportunity to pursue her art full-time and is now pleased to present her latest two part series, “Of Land and Sea”. Displaying a series of graphite drawings featuring twisted tree figures and large format acrylic paintings of roots transforming into life below the surface.”
