SUMMARY:Hackett Park Artisan Fair
DESCRIPTION:The Hackett Park Artisan Fair is an annual gathering of local and regional vendors. The Fair has been an annual tradition on the Coast for 35 years\, and attracts close to 5000 visitors seeking to discover the creations of artisans who are jury selected based on craftsmanship\, originality\, and the unique items they have to offer for sale. In keeping with our ongoing tradition\, the fair will coincide with the popular Festival of the Written Arts. \nThis year’s Fair will take place in the lower field of Hackett Park. We will have live musicians in Hackett Park’s amphitheatre and a large variety of artisans\, artists\, and food vendors! \nThe entrances to the Fair are located at the corner of Trail Ave. and Medusa as well as Trail Ave. and Dolphin St. in Sechelt. Admission is by donation for adults and seniors\, and free for children under twelve.

SUMMARY:Vancouver Folk Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Vancouver Folk Music Festival is a Canadian cultural institution. It is a unique community-based celebration internationally renowned for presenting the finest traditional and contemporary folk and roots music from around the world. Now in its 46th year\, the Festival continues to be one of the city’s most beloved\, enjoyed\, and respected events. Through the years\, the Festival has won “Best Local Music Festival” by readers of the Georgia Straight and the Westender. Each year\, the Festival draws tens of thousands of enthusiastic attendees to beautiful Jericho Beach Park. Two and even three generations of families join friends and fellow community members to experience the music and culture of more than 40 international\, national\, and local acts. They come together to dance and to enjoy food and children’s activities – and the magical ambience of the Festival. \nThe Festival was founded in 1978 and held in Stanley Park. It relocated to Jericho Beach Park in its second year. Following initial sponsorship from the city\, the Festival came under the control of the newly established non-profit Vancouver Folk Music Festival Society in late 1979. In the Festival’s early years\, it established and ran its own record label and distribution company\, Festival Records. \nOver the years\, the Vancouver Folk Music Festival has played a key role in the development of artists and audiences on a regional\, national\, and international level. The society continues to honour the same traditions with an emphasis on emerging and diverse artists.

SUMMARY:Golden Spike Days
DESCRIPTION:The Golden Spike Days Festival is one of the oldest and longest running family events in BC and are proud to have been named to The Tri-City News’ A-List as ‘Favorite Community Event\,’ multiple years running. The festival is held at Rocky Point Park around Canada Day\, attracting upwards of 40\,000 people of all walks of life with live entertainment\, special events and activities for all ages. Our event commemorates the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway line and its arrival at the original western terminus in Port Moody where the last spike was driven. \nPort Moody Golden Spike Days Festival is coordinated by a dedicated group of Volunteers who work tirelessly to produce a fun Family Event. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nCome join us for the annual Golden Spike Days festival.
